Fishing on the Carolina Princess
Morehead City, NC

Made plans to go bottom fishing out on the shelf, 40 miles out, to do a little snapper and grouper fishing. The Carolina Princess left at 5 AM and as the boat pulled out of the dock the skies began to get funky in an evil sort of way. I saw squawls out on the horizon. .

The Captain had a hard time keeping the ship on structure for the boat was being moved around in the waves and blown by the wind. So it was hit and miss...the fish were there whenever we were over the structure...it was two fish on a rod and then nothing...reposition and try again. This Captain put his heart and soul into moving his boat around to produce.

A grouper here, an amberjack there...then the skies opened up. Momma Mia should have brought a wet suit. It poured and stopped, then poured and stopped again. All in all we caught some fish, but I'm telling you if we had some normal weather, we would have killed them. Welcome to fishing.
