DAY 1Dave's Long Range Trip on the Excel

Well let's put it this way...this ship will spoil you. It's the top of the line for party boats. I share my room with one roommate. It has a teak wood dresser for allof your clothes, closets for your jackets, tons of room for my gear and a nice sink to wash up in.

I brush my teeth in the morning, shave, and shower...yes, there are hot showers throughout the boat, no shortcuts here. There are enough rod holders to put any amount of rods possible in the back, right at your fingertips...a place for tackle boxes for more than 30 people...more room than yours truly has ever seen.
Let's talk food.

This is snack food: home made pizza, home baked cookies and tons of fresh fruit. I died and went to heaven!
Let's talk fishing space.

The back of the Excel was built specifically for fishing. The back is low to the water for easy access for gaffing fish and bringing your catch aboard. Wide open space in the back...to the front all clean space for mobility when you are running around following your fish.
Let's talk live bait wells.

Enormous tanks to hold more than enough live bait than a trip could possibly use. I haven't dropped a line and I am impressed.
Look let's face it...I am a true New Yorker and always looking for a flaw. But guys, this is the tops with a capital "T". Right now I'm going to take a nap in my oak bed, which has clean linens and is so comfortable after a hard day of battling fish for many long hours. Thank you very much. The only thing I forgot to bring is my tunes...Oh well.

By the by, I met Bill Poole, the owner of the Excel and after a very short talk, it was obvious that the Excel is his pride and joy. His goal was to build the perfect fishing machine with all the comforts a fisherman could want and he has succeeded. He is a down to earth, real guy...no show time...straight up...I like that. Right before sunset we came across a pod of dorado...stopped the engines and nailed a few ...1 yellowtail...25 dorado...and 1 wahoo...a great start, if you ask me!
