DAY 5Dave's Long Range Trip on the Excel
The fish today have slacked off...this morning we only caught 6 yellow fin, 2 crokers and 2 groupers. Well, the Captain pulled the anchor and decided to troll around the rocks for wahoo...good move.
This was a switch, real wahoo fishing. Five lines trolling, no more than five minutes went by and the scream "fish on" was heard. Boy these babies can fly! As the engine went off live bait was thrown in and a lure they call "bomber" was thrown in and reeled as fast as possible.
The catch ratio is half when it comes to wahoo razor sharp teeth and when they hit it's at 60 miles an hour. Get my drift. But the boys did drill over 22 wahoo that day and lost about the same. It was time to move to a new spot.
