"Quotas"
Fishing quotas have become the joke of fools to recreational fishermen. It's like telling a child that there is no elephant behind them, while the elephant is sitting bluntly on their head!
We all know the truth in this one-sided game. It's the shell game with peanuts under every shell. I am not a political, bleeding heart, liberal. I am a realist with both eyes open and the stories going around for quotas are shameful. If there are going to be realistic ways to bring back the stocks, they will have to be across the board. What a commercial long-liner brings in, in a month compared to what a long range party boat brings in (accounting for weather conditions and how many times the boat actually gets out) is a joke.
Look, let's talk plain English...it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see through this...we have no arguement...it has been a one-sided fight...but in the end all will lose. There are no winners, when the deep blue water fish are gone. This is not a dramatization...this is in your face reality...get a grip! We can all fish and make a living, but a reality check is in order.
So get real...and tell me your opinion and solutions on regaining our fishery back to respectable resource for the long haul. Quick money runs out eventually. Spend a nickel make a quarter back, I alway say. What's your solution to this joke we call "management" ha, ha, ha.
