"Truth or Dare"
Truth is a fine line...if you say exactly what the truth may be...it can be ugly, yet a breath of fresh air. But you must also accept the return. Truth in a relationship is muddled and put into a safe box with some. No one yells, no one fights, all is quiet on the home front and then one day you hear a shot and a thud from next door...truth held it's breath a little TOO long.
Truth or consequences with your job? Truth...your boss is a walking egotistical, Napoleon complex. His wife is from a "B" horror flick. Truth...you get paid well for your job. Conditions...two blind eyes and deaf ears...then you can be happy and work there. Open your mouth to convey your so called opinion and it will cost you one hundred and twenty thousand dollars. One expensive line of words...about five thousand per word!
Truth...we all want to say it. We'd boast about how we said it. Dream about it. Do it in restraints and clean borders. Censored, recensored and paused...
Let's get real...sometimes you've got to let it rip down the highway. Forget the brakes and go for it. We'll see you in divorce court later that week. Truth...sometimes yours truly has to pull the parachute cord and bail out. Not every trip in the world is great. In fact some are pretty nasty even glue won't keep the pieces together. Engines blow up...mates are from hell...certain people on the boat know everything and I mean EVERYTHING...but they can't even tie their own shoes to save their life. Captains lose it and start driving sideways...storms blow in out of no where and the boat becomes a Coney Island roller coaster. People get sick...and I mean more than ten...it's colder than a witches breath and your reel just had a seizure.
The truth is in the eyes of the beholder. Human nature is a cocktail made by God with a weird sense of humor. When I pass on, I want to have a sit down with him about the truth.
