Al, Was reading your column when I came across the mention of the boat the "Chief" Brought back some good times when I was a kid. I worked two summers on her after she was brought up from some place down south, Capt. Phil Wright owned her and he had a first Mate Fred who got me the job, learned how to clean fish and smoke cigars-- Also remember the old WOODEN REELS and Calcutta Poles we rented out .Caught many a Cod fish ,and Fluke on them . Also new Mike and his son's at the tackle store- I have lived in Tennessee for 40 years and 23 years ago they stocked the local lake with Stripers , I was right at home , Caught many Stripers off Long Beach and Jones beach Inlet . The Stripers on the lake here run from 5lbs. to 45lbs.We cast to the Breaks with Bucktails and spoons also troll with variuos types of plugs and also live Shad.
