Renting a Vacation Home on Cape Hatteras
We new where we wanted to go and we knew that we wanted to rent a house, but how do you rent a house on Cape Hatteras when you are in New York? Answer, go on-line to the Outer Beaches Real Estate website at outerbeaches.com...and it couldn't be easier. They have a search engine where you fill in all of your requirements (ocean or canal front, number of bedrooms, etc.) and it gives you all of the houses that meet those requirements. Then you call their 800 number and ask about the availability. Since we were going during prime time, July 4th week...they told us which houses were available and we looked them up on the website...read the details about each home and chose the one that we liked. Needless to say, we were not disappointed!
We had a wonderful 3 bedroom house on the canal, a large deck with a dock on the water and a row boat. Every moment of the day, there were fish jumping out of the water! There were crabs, a family of ducks and a white heron that came by everyday. The house was immaculate and came with all the amenities, and every evening we had a beautiful view of the sunset. Outer Beaches Real Estate has the largest selection of rental homes on Hatteras Island and they rent everything from 1 bedroom condos to 7 bedroom houses, some complete with jacuzzi's! They are family owned and you get the feeling that the employees are one big extended family. Everyone is very friendly and extremely helpful.
