It was a dark cloudy morning and the smell of fall was in the air. Time for fish to fatten up for their long trip to warmer waters. This is time for gorilla blues...also known as "gators"...in the sound...blues to 16 lbs. and better. Steve on the Swedish Princess has their number for sure. He is top of the line for a charter and knows his fish inside out. He always has a game plan before you are even on the boat...by reading the sound's first morning breath. I got there before the squirrels were even up, but I had that itch we'd have some fun. Steve had us snag some bunker...he alway likes to use fresh bait for those bruisers. It didn't take long to catch what we needed since those bunker were in thick by the sail boats in the harbor.

We buzzed over to one of his favorite spots, which I cannot disclose for obvious reasons and anchored up and put out a small slick. Steve set out his favorite rigs and no sooner than I lit my cigarette when the reel was screaming for mercy. That blue was jumping all over and Steve quickly subdued that brute of 16 pounds. Now that's a blue fish! No cocktails this morning...after that we slammed a few more and had a blast. Better than coffee is a gator blue to wake you up first thing in the morning. This is the time to get the big blues and stripers. So give Steve a call and get into the hot fall action. I highly recommend it! Thanks Steve for giving me a great morning of fishing and shooting the breeze. Dave
