Ocean Eagle - Sheepshead Bay

Black fish...elusive...frustrating...words of frustration cannot be used enough. You will question your own sanity after a while of why the guy next to you is doing a bang up job on them and you couldn't hook a barn door...go figure. Anyway, there is definately some skill to consistently hooking up. A stiff rod is a definate and the reason why is that when those critters start heading back home into the rocks you want to rip him up before he gets to his front door and you lose all chances of getting him.

Black fish love rock piles, small wrecks...any heavy structure. On the main menu are green crabs, clams and small crabs. No matter who says what the Ocean Eagle is an excellent black fish boat. Greg has his spots and works hard on getting that boat right over them. And yes, his brother can out fish you four to one...anywhere on the boat!

Some will tell you to wait for the second wrap others will tell you to bang it as soon as you feel a bump. Black fish are elusive and picky. Yes, there are those who commit suicide on your rod but the rest you have to be alert and ready. Quick to respond and reel like a jack rabbit on espresso to get him off the rocks and into the frying pan. The Ocean Eagle is a proven and experienced boat...field tested by yours truly...Dave...I stand behind this one all the way.
