Noli Eileen II - Huntington

Talk about a long day, the boat left at 5 AM and came back at 5:30 PM. Ouch! Listen guys if this isn't enough time to blackfish I'd give it up for sure. Well, it wasn't a slaughter on every stop. But on one stop we slammed those blackies from every corner of the boat, an easy forty came over. Perfect eating size 2 to 3 lbs.

There were some sharpies on this boat for sure. At the beginning of the trip the Captain had to deal with wind against the tide. That can be a real pain for manuvering a boat. The second stop was a pick of good quality. Blacks to five pounds, the blacks on that stop were not aggressive they were picking at the bait very softly, so to get those puppies you had to be alert and slam those pups with a swing. As a friend of mine would say "Swing and a miss"...but that's the way it is sometimes. I was swinging left and right and went through eleven rigs. But I got my six respectable blacks.

Geoff Lawrence, from "The Fishermen" was having a day...his specialty is really sea bass, not blackfish. He got a couple and lost a few for sure. His buddy slammed a nice black that was about 7 lbs. for a $200 pool. Not shabby!

Anyway, the Noli Eileen's crew were great. Always on top of things and always there to help you. A real pleasure to have on a trip like this. A real good crowd with a sense of humor. Fisherman's humor...call a doctor, quick! The weather couldn't have been better...all in all a good day of blackfishing.
