Capt. Lou - Freeport
Long Range Wreck Trip

December 27, 1998

We left at 2 AM with our cooler and sleeping bags...the seas were so calm that I had to go out and check if we were on the ocean. There was not one ounce of wind, you could have lit a match and watched it burn down to your finger tips. On our first drop we were banging away on enough giant sea bass for all...just drop and pull...you gotta love it! Some monster pollack were putting the dent on some rods.

On the second drop we were pulling up monster porgies up to 2 pounds. These porgies were definately on steroids! More monster sea bass and more gorilla pollack...even some cod came over the rail. Nothing to yell about yet. I think that the next trip will probably see alot more cod with the temperatures finally dropping.

Well, more than 600 fish filled the coolers...yours truly came home with a big bag of fillets. On the trip home the crowd was sound asleep...cutting wood...exhausted from the marathon fishing all day. Thanks to Captain Anthony for doing a bang up job. The boat was clean and fast and the two mates did a great job...which leads to a great trip.

Only a few trips left boys and girls...and they're definately worth it. Call the office to double check on the trip schedule and the winter weather. They book quickly so don't be left out.
