It was a brisk March evening when we left. The ocean layed flat for our trip out and I slept like a log the entire way to the grounds.

The wind was just starting up a little and my friend Mike and I went to work on some nice fishing. Some of the biggest porgies your eyes have ever seen! Mike had one that was 17 inches and 3 lbs.! Not the norm for sure! There were plenty of nice sea bass with som nice ling coming abourd. The March winds started to pick up and bottom fishing in the winds can be a trip. Thank God for heated rails!

The fish were definately there but you needed the Midas touch. People are saying that the sea bass are gone...but not yet! Captains Bogan and Howard kept us right over those wrecks, like real pro's. If the weather had cooperated I could have seen a better scenario, but fishing is fishing, you learn to deal with all the different circumstances that God gives you.

Mike and I caught about 40 sea bass, a slew of jumbo porgies and a few nice ling...not shabby by far! For you sea bass lovers, I would highly recommend getting out, while they're still here. As for the weather, you need to keep an eye on it up until the last minute. Winter is giving us it's last punches...but in no time it will be spring and we will be fishing in 65 degree weather!
