It was a slow start for sure, but Mike hunted all over the bay checking all of his usual haunts. The guys on board tried everything known to man, but Mike had a hunch on one spot, so we moseyed on over...and as the tide started to slack off the fish started to turn on. When the tide finally did slack off the bite was on!

Flounders were bouncing off the deck and Capt. Mike had his grin on full alert. Mike the mate told the guys that clam strips were the ticket...and the ones that changed over immediately were putting their table fare together. For an hour and a half we took in as many as we dropped. Yours truly has been cod fishing lately, so I was getting my flounder touch back slowly. You know...bounce three times...then ever so slowly lift just a bit off the bottom...then repeat. I got my six and dropped over 15 fish easy. A great finish to a great day.

Considering the weather that we've been having lately, this was a pleasure. There were no howling winds ripping my hat off of my head...it was 50 degrees with a light wind over easy, thank you very much. So listen guys, be patient and stick with it you never know when those flatties are going to feast. Put your time in and be the guy that was there...not the one who has to hear "you should have been here yesterday". Thanks to Mike for a great day as always and a good crowd. It would have been a great day, fish or no fish...but fish always helps!
