Capt. Lou has been picking away in the back bays with some quality fish coming up. Of course it has been a common occurence to go through some shorts...but that has been all of Long Island. Lou's boat has always been a four star boat for children and the young at heart. The boat is spotless with a full galley and plenty of room for the kids to have a great time.
The boat is fishing the back bays so it is very calm for kid's stomachs and non-seaworthy stomachs. Your child's first experience on the water is important...don't make it a nightmare by taking them out on a full day trip. A half day is perfect. Capt. Lou's boat with Johnny Mack captaining leaves at 8 AM and is back by noon, just the right amount of time.
Fish along with your child...put your rod away and let them mess up..remember, that's how you learned! Let them eat the candy or don't...and make it their day. The pay off is enormous...your child will want to come back again and again. Fish or no fish.
If you fish a full day with a beginner they will be begging you to leave and the next time they will not smile when you tell them that you want to go fishing. Leave the ocean for later on. Break them in slowly and make fishing what it's supposed to be...FUN!
