Marlin V - Montauk
August 19, 1999
The Marlin V is a great boat, the crew is definately top knotch. I can personally appreciate that considering how many boats I've been on this year. Trust me I've seen some real science experiments that have escaped the lab. Polite, courteous to the kids and they know what they're doing. The bait is fresh and there is always enough. When you're fluke fishing that is very important. Would you eat a steak that is 20 days old and falling apart? I do not think so!
Your fish is put away immediately and tagged. Out of the sun and kept fresh...unlike one boat I've been on who didn't even have buckets to put your fish in! Jake is a seasoned captain and will check out his many spots not just follow the crowd, like a cow in a herd. They always get a good crowd on the boat. A great family boat. Put all these elements together and fish in your bucket and you get one slamming day! I highly recommend that you check out the Marlin V. They're starting their full day trips soon which is a real treat to the real fishermen out there. Last shot dudes to get your doormat out in Montauk.
P.S. Try out lighter line like 10 lb. test when you fish out there set your drag correctly...you'll find out soon enough that it will add a few more fish to there bucket. Enjoy!
