Shark Tournament
King Wayne - Montauk

Captain - Wayne King
Saturday, July 12, 1997

Got up before the squirrels at 4 AM and left the dock at 6 AM...went by the lighthouse and trolled up a few bluefish for bait. Took a nice long ride to some warm waters...68 degrees. By 10:30 AM we had a good slick going. It was a day from heaven, a perfect day...blue skies and a light cool wind. Now it's the waiting game...

Balloons blown up and bluefish at the other end saying their prayers..having their last smoke. When Mr. Shark comes by they are either prima donnas or slobs. Unfortunately they smack the first few bluefish in half...sometimes right by the hook, thank you very much! Except for one hog, who enhaled the whole bludefish with one bite...and then that favorite sound...the scream of the reel and the fight was on.

This is what is in store for you when you go fishing on the King Wayne. Go and finish the story for yourself.
