Trip on the Jamaica in Brielle

New Jersey
(732)528-5014

Chasing the last tuna out. And yes they're still off our waters. Thank God for the Jamaica's size. The weather rough with a capital "R". The new moon was showing her effects and yes the wind, she was a howling...welcome to fall fishing. The weather is never written in stone. The weather channel had "predicted" that the wind would fall off around midnight. Never happened dudes. Never the less, these twenty sea dogs went out for that last tuna. And yes, over twenty tuna came aboard with a few dolphin. Amazing due to the conditions. If the conditions were better, trust me, you're guaranteed that number.

Capt. Bogan did a great job out there and his young mates were on top of things. Despite the conditions, it was a good group of fishermen out there. Trust me, the whining could have started this, that and whatever about fishing. It's fishing, take the good with the bad. Now a hot tip...if Mother Nature deals the right cards, I would highly recommend being on the last trip this Sunday. One, we will be off the moon's tide. Two, I say this with my fingers crossed, no major blow this coming weekend. And three, the fish are still out there in numbers. This has been, by far, the best tuna season in years. So next week, we will conclude with a special story, lots of pictures of all of you tuna heads.

P. S. The Jamaica long range sea bass trips have begun, and should really heat up in the following weeks. Bring your coolers!
