Massapequa Trout Fishing
November 11, 1999
Okay, okay stop whining. It's getting cold out, you're grumpy and you're contemplating your toes...getting really bored. Nothing's on TV, and the um, holidays are coming. The relatives are coming. Run, go now, escape, go pick up some milk. Grab your kids and save them...go trout fishing in Massapequa Park. This commercial brought to you by your talking fishing rod. They've done a mean stocking this year at the local lakes on Long Island with some nice chubbies. All you need is some grubs, worms or power bait by Berkley. Green or yellow is my favorite, or some real small spoons, one gold and one silver. Gold for a sunny day, silver for a cloudy day.

As soon as you walk into the park from Sunrise Highway, the area infront of the water shed is a good deep water hole to start with. Keep it simple for the kids please: small floats, split shots and 3 1/2 feet of line under the float for the kiddies please. Small trout hooks and light line no more than 6 lbs. test. Take some junk food to munch on and a thermos of hot chocolate for the kids. Take a walk along the path, let the kids do their thing. They sleep a lot better at night. Good for you, very good for you! And you catch a few trout, the kids love you, mom loves you for letting her get a time out. And the kids won't need a shrink later on leaving your wallet a little cash, and all because you took them fishing!

P. S. Now about the relatives...shark fishing?!
