"Blackfish AGAIN, not another story on blackfish, Dave, please". Well excuse meeee for one of the best seasons I've seen in a loooong time. The North Star is a fisherman's boat...translation, not for the kiddies. This boat puts you in prime Jersey blackfish grounds.
I had a great time with one of the blackfish moguls, Mike from the Captain Mike. Mike fishes straight up, no bells and whistles, just straight rigs and he beat me out again for the pool. I thought I had him this time for sure, but I was fishing alongside of him when he sets his hook and turned to me and says, "Sorry Dave, this is the pool fish on the other end." I've fished with Mike long enough to know he knew, that I knew, that he knew, that I knew, that he knew, that I knew that "Norton, when I say this is a BIG fish, I mean it's a big fish"..."Okay, okay Ralphy boy."
The fishing was great, we limited out and never left the rail, even for lunch. The big boys are coming in next week as our water get colder.
