Mackerel Fishing

Brooklyn VI - Sheepshead Bay
January 4, 2000

The Brooklyn is the "Mack the Knife" of mackerel fishing. The Captain put us right on their little, pointy heads and we had all the mackerel you could catch. Fill whatever bucket you had...God Bless you!

The seas were an entirely different story...I wish that I could say that it was flat like glass with a light breeze...NOOOOTTTTT...we got hammered! All week the ocean had been calm, but the day that I decide to go get the scoop, the seas decided to rip and the wind was howling.

At least the mackerel were chowing...and the coolers were overflowing! Drop and pull that was all it took. So, if you are into mackerel, go now...RIGHT NOW...it doesn't get any hotter than this!
