Dave's Pick - 4 Star Family Boat

The big new is Ambrose is coming alive. Waves of fish are begging to make their trip there and the numbers show it. This week they had fish to 7 pound and that, my boys and girls should improve over the days to come.

Meat strips are the ticket here...use the white belly of the fluke with some meat. Also, the Green Mister Twisters are a must here. Green spinner rigs will also come in handy, but they are not my favorites because the hooks on these rigs are sad, very sad. Be sure to change their hooks with better quality hooks. The silver bullet was not effective because the fish were not that aggressive, they're laying on the bait, you must let them feed on it when you feel the weight on the line. The three Mississippi count will do just fine. That's why I love to fish with Spectrum line...you can feel their teeth literally grabbing the hook...unlike regular fishing line. That's how sensitive fishing can be at times.

Six feet of 20 pound fluoro carbon, shock leader is a must, however, don't ever tie it straight to your rig or the line will show in the water like a red flag. Caught my limit on my day on the Sea Queen and fished with the kids. Weather still holding out...thank you very much to the big Kahuna in the skies.

P.S. Jerry, I have a cigar for you the next time around.
