That's MR. Blackfish to you!

I love blackfish, it's all Al Goldberg's and Greg on the Ocean Eagles' fault
. Blackfishing is a world in it's own. I have a mission every year...to get one over 10 lbs....and this year I will bust it!!?? I hope.

This has been a great start...with lots of action and alot of fish in the
3 lb. range. But trust me, there are alot of big bruisers out there don't be mistaken. Be sure to rig right or risk losing your trophy fish. I use 40 pound gorilla line of silver thread. Fire line is stiff and has a short life span. Plus it frays and breaks at the sight of a rock. The other lines are alligator tough.

Plus, listen up...be sure to use at least 10 feet of leader line...nothing less than 20 pound test and a bimini knot to each other. You'll have the best sensitivity to the elusive blackfish bite. When you can feel that little tap hit hard...hit with feeling...James Brown style. OR stay home and complain to your mother. Keep line tight and stay alert. Drink lot's of coffee. All you're going to feel is rap-rap and you must respond in the middle. Reel fast, reel hard...get his sorry butt off the wreck or he will take you into a world of hurt and you will lose. I love it, don't you? You are going to lose rigs, so get over it. Tie a bunch up ahead of time.
As for the Ocean Eagle...great bunch of yahoos...fishing is always a good time. The black fish jailer of Sheepshead Bay. Who needs stinking numbers when the fish are chowing bit time...so go get 'em!
