Fluke fishing this year in Montauk will be talked about for years to come. No need to talk about the old days and how it was...be part of it now and get your own stories to tell! I spent alot of time in Montauk last week...one of my loves.

Well, to the report on the Marlin...technique is almost everything, then there's the luck factor. Big mama fluke...Doormats...Barn Doors! A full day trip to get my fix! You had to earn your fluke...the moon, wind, against the tide, so on and so on. And still the Captain kept us on fluke for the morning. There were 4 pounders, 5 pounders, 6 pounders and yes, 7 pounders. The pictures speak for themselves...

And yes, wa got a doormat around 6 pounds. That didn't even get second place! Let's talk blues slammers, gorillas, rod busters. I had a few blues that really broke my chops, broke lines, jumped off, what can I say..."ouch"...try 12 lbs. to enormous! All on jigging. We got into a little frenzy of psycho blues. What a blast, a great change of pace from fluking. We had a triple star trip!

Al Goldberg of Westchester had 5 fluke, sea bass and one nice 5 1/2 lb. doormat and some nice blues...Cris from Glen Cove had 7 fluke to 4 lbs. and 5 blue fish...Bonnie from Islip had 3 keepers and a 5 lb. fluke...Rob had 5 big fluke to 6 lbs...Woodberg had 7 fluke to 4 lbs. and 2 blue fish. Over 200 keeper fluke and a mess of blue fish.

Thank you John & Ed for a wonderful day of fishing as always, Dave
