Mahi Mahi...Dorado...Dolphin...NO not flipper! Dolphin the fish, not the mammal. Get the dictionary, okay?! And yes, they have them in Key West, Mexico, Hawaii and all through the Caribbean...and yes, we have them in our backyards, right here in the east coast.

A great sprinter...a gold medal acrobat...and a tazmanian demon of speed. One of the most hunted for light gear and the fish tasts like chicken...only kidding! Honestly, one of the top table fair going. You can catch them in the canyon where the gulf streams pump warm water.

The top season here is usually September threw early October...so if the tuna are on sabbatical and you see dophin around. Smell the coffee and go for it! This little story takes place on the Helen H, in Hyannis, on the Cape.

These little colorful babies were hanging out by the lobster pots. Dolphin will hand under any floating debris....floating sea grass, a piece of wood. Feathers are some great lures to use or small, I mean small, lures.

Stay tuned for more in Part II!
