Prime Time III - Orient Point
Captain - Dan Buckley
Thursday, May 15, 1997

I left at 4 AM not to be in a rush...the ride to Orient Point is half of the trip. It's classic old Long Island as I remember it when I was a kid. When I arrived the weather was great, a slight wind...compared to the last few weeks 20 miles an hour is a blessing! The fish today had to be worked for, but hey, with a shot at a 10 lb. fluke in the right place and Orient Point is the right place for huge fluke.

A common fluke is 3 lbs. to 5 lbs. 50 fish were caught up to 5 lbs. By the by, one nice weak fish was caught ...icing on the cake! Only a few days before, an 18 lb fluke was caught 5 inches thick...yum, yum! The crew on the boat was top notch and always alert and there for help in a heart beat. The Captain, Dan Buckley, worked his butt off today to get his clients on fish. I give Prime Time III, Dave's pick of the week. So if you want a shot at a blue ribbon fluke, the time is now. Stop reading and start moving...and tell them that Dave sent you!
