Capt. Mike - Howard Beach
Monday, April 13, 1998
Well, what can I say...or do they think I brought a black cat on board...or maybe I need a new rabbits foot...or is it hop once and throw salt over the right shoulder...scream twice, yada, yada, yada and then kick a cat over a garbage pail for good luck! Captain Mike is going to hang me.

They have been slamming flounder over by the shoals...I mean doing the deed. Monday a beautiful day...gorgeous...a "10". The boat was full, the kids were having a great time. Jeffrey Lawrence from the Long Island Fisherman was with me. I've been telling him and telling him about how great the fishing has been, so we go to the shoals and there is "a roll"...waves a'crashin'. The kids were laughing and rolling across the deck. My son, Michael, with his special set up...an ice fishing pole and a Daiwa SS special series reel...nailed four nice ones. Kids...go figure! The fishing was a pick. Who's fault is this...don't look at me...Hey! Don't follow me with that gallow rope! It's not my fault.

Guys and girls, welcome to fishing...the best laid plans, yadda, yadda...and God laughs. Despite the bad luck that day...the fishing has been fantastic out at the shoals. This is my hot tip! Don't miss out! Captain Mike is a great family boat...his mates are great with kids and the crowd is cool...they won't teach your kids new words for school! Today, there was a storm out at sea. The area, which is normally flat was rockin' and rollin'...just one of those days...and even still, everyone had a great time. So check out Mike's boat and leave the bananas at home...PLEASE!
Dear Mike, I promise to bring a new rabbit's foot, next time! Dave
