Capt. Bob's Fleet - Mattituck

Captain - Bob Ceglowski
Monday, May 19, 1997

The start of the day was black over hanging clouds...not a good start...then the rain came in buckets as I got to Captain Bob's Fleet. I had expected the trip to be cancelled due to lack of customers...wrong. They were there anxious and ready for a shot at a jumbo fluke, all 30 of them. Coffee and a pack of butts and I was ready. As soon as Capt. Bob warmed the engines, the rain had stopped and off we went. First stop a few fluke, nothing to rant about...and then he moved to his second spot. Bob found a nice bump of bait fish on the fish finder...stopped and all hell broke loose.

Try 90 fluke, from 2 lbs and up. We fished until the tide stopped. I couldn't believe how long the bite went but the hours felt like minutes when the fish were biting. Every single person had fish in buckets and smiles on their faces. Yours truly dropped two chubby fluke and was too busy checking out the story for you fellow fishermen. The crew was the best...curtious and clean. Captain Bob Ceglowski is one top notch captain...he knows his waters inside out.

This is the hot tip for the next two weeks...if you want a jumbo fluke stop whining...get up, call in sick, tell the wife how hard the month has been at work and go get your blue ribbon fluke. Don't miss this season...
and tell them that Dave sent you!
