Brooklyn VI - Sheepshead Bay
Wednesday, June 3, 1998

A large, comfortable boat and a Captain who just won't quit! Chase those bugga's down and hook 'em up. The mates are seasoned fishermen...quick and too the point...they will show you the right way to catch "Willy the Sneak" blue.

Blues are one of those fish that you don't have to ask, "How do I know when I have a bite?" Your line will be singing the blues! You have your typical cocktail blue...2 - 6 pounds...your gator blue...6 - 10 pounds...and then there's the godzilla blue which is up to 16 pounds. The godzilla blues will do major damage on the old arms and back.

On this particular day, we were chasing the birds that were picking up the scraps from the blues, that were chopping on the bait Missouri-style. Cast the jig and reel like a mother...first though, please, please let it hit the bottom. Plus stop and go usually works to get one to chow. When the blues decide to go "pirana crazy", you could use an old alley cat for bait.

I like to use lawyers for bait...dress them up in a fluorescent green outfit and tell them to splash alot....go figure, the blues always spit them out! Anyway, the blues are tearing up Sheepshead Bay...so go get 'em boys! The Brooklyn leaves at 7 AM and 7 PM.
