Never, never bet against your big brother! My brother and I went out for a report together. Well, I had my silver bullet and Joe was using a rig that he had been using in Mattituck with Crazy Al. I was slamming keepers on one side of Reynolds Channel and Joey was on the other side.
The next thing I know, the mates are yelling that Joe has caught a 5 1/2 pounder. Ticked me off! I get a few more keepers, he pulls up a 4 pounder! (I was so angry I took a bite out of it!) What can you do. Joe was using the dark side of the fluke for a strip, meat and all. Those jumbos really love it! But you have to let them eat it. You also need Gamakatsu hooks, razor sharp, to get a great hook up. My brother and I just about limited out.
As for the boat...the Miss Point Lookout is a class act...a clean and fast boat. The crew is always polite and curtious. Point Lookout is right on some of the best fluke grounds for the south shore. Guys, look, if my brother can catch a 4 & 5 pounder on a half day trip...AND win the pool...anyone can...ONLY JOKING JOEY!! Joe will be doing some night reports coming up later this season.
