Marlin V - Montauk
Saturday, June 20, 1998

Always a pleasure...always people fishing for the first time. The Greek Brothers with the stringer of fluke never went fluke fishing before. It's enough to make you sick...talk about beginners luck! Now try to remember this was a half day trip. These guys were singing away slamming the fish...no fancy rigs...just St. Peter's blessing.

The man with the baby doormat is a sharpie...don't be mistaken...and it wasn't even a hot bite. Remember, get there early for the weekend and call or you'll be standing on the dock looking like the boy who lost his mother in the mall.

Joan, the new owner of the Marlin V, is a sharpie and a half...don't ever bet against her unless you would like to lighten your wallet. Joan taught me alot last year about fishing for fluke in Montauk. The bite is different there than the south shore. She has a great captain and a pure love for fishing...so go! Dave gives it the field test thumbs up. Don't be mistaken, I don't waste my time with bus rides for tourists and neither should you. Good Luck Joan! Dave
