Center Moriches, home of jigging for fluke. The shallow water of Moriches Bay and clarity has always made a great summer fluke haven. Rosie is a great family boat for kids. Use small silver bullets in the 2-3 oz. Range and small bucktails in the 1-2 oz. range. Green is my favorite color bucktail. Us spearing with both.
Light rods and light line…10 lb. is just fine so you can feel your hits. Small lifts up and down and just relax and get into the rhythm….personally I like James Brown when I jig and a Cobia cigar! Oh, and a gin and tonic dry please…what no cocktail waitress on this boat?!! Sorry I drifted off.
Any how bring a good lunch and have a day with your kids before they head back to school. Give them something to daydream about, beyond computer games…show them the real thing!
